MAKING A DIFFERENCE. EVERY DAY

Judge Koch has always valued citizenship and civic participation. He knows that the stronger the community involvement, the stronger the community. In addition to countless hours volunteering over the years on legal issues and organizations, Judge Koch has made time to be a coach, a mentor, and a leader in the community. Judge Koch has tried to instill in each of the children on his teams, as well as the families of those players, the importance of teamwork, respect, and fun. He's coached some winning teams (due to the skills of the players) and some not-so-winning teams (due to the lack of skills of the coach most likely), but in each and every situation, he has strived to instill a love of the game and a sense of contribution from each player.

He has also volunteered his time to work with law students, college students, and high school students through mentoring programs, moot court competitions, and mock trial competitions. Through this hands-on involvement with tomorrow's legal leaders, Judge Koch is confident the legal profession will be in good hands.
He also worked with students outside of the legal setting. He was an active member of his children's elementary school, including serving in several leadership roles. He also volunteered hundreds of hours in the classroom teaching music and art appreciation courses, going on field trips, helping with parties, and reading to the classes or individual students.
